**Position Information**:
Morpeth Public School is located within the Maitland Network of schools, on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua people.

With a current enrolment of 264 students (16% Aboriginal and 10% EALD), our school prides itself on fostering an inclusive environment that values wellbeing, student engagement and academic excellence.

Proximity to a large residential estate, within the school’s zone, is expected to contribute to continued enrolment growth in the near future.

Morpeth Public School has well-established sport, music, dance and cultural programs and enjoys productive partnerships with schools within the Maitland Learning Community (MLC).

Our school provides high-quality education programs, delivered through explicit teaching, collaborative practices, the effective analysis of data and the provision of a positive learning environment to support student growth and attainment.

Student wellbeing is supported through the explicit teaching of PBL expectations, personalised adjustments to learning programs and the provision of a broad range of activities to enhance student engagement.

**Selection Criteria**:

- In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with demonstrated excellence and expertise in leading innovative technology practices.
- Proven capacity to collaboratively lead and contribute to continuous school improvement, particularly in relation to High Potential and Gifted Education initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance an inclusive and positive school culture

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
