Yarra Valley High Country, Australia Billanook College Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

In a natural, sustainable environment Billanook College aspires to provide an accessible, uniquely caring learning community in which students confidently create and navigate their own learning pathways. We do so with respect and appreciation of diversity, equity, justice and our place in a changing world.

At Billanook College, our Staff are central to our mission. We aim to recruit and sustain a workforce focused on the shared vision of the College.

The Position

Billanook College seeks applications for an experienced Executive Assistant who enjoys working across every aspect of school life.

This full-time, ongoing role works closely with and supports the Principal and Deputy Principal through the provision of exceptional administrative, governance and systems support. The Executive Assistant is the first point of contact for both the Principal and Deputy Principal's office and plays a pivotal role in the development and delivery of College-wide and area-specific events. As a senior administrative position, this role provides guidance and assistance on College-wide matters to each of the sub-school administrative support roles and is responsible for the efficient running of the Reception team.

Further information about the role is provided in the position description attached to this advertisement.

About You

You are a proactive individual who enjoys using their initiative and thrives during a busy day. You have the ability to work autonomously and have previous experience in a senior administrative position supporting senior leaders. Experience in the education sector is an advantage – as is the ability to demonstrate discretion and judgement. If you enjoy managing and coordinating events and finding efficiencies in processes, then this is the job for you

Candidates must be passionate and enthusiastic with the capacity and experience to succeed, have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with community members across stakeholder groups.

The School

Billanook College is an independent, co-educational Early Learning to Year 12 school situated in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.  The School has an enrolment of close to 1000 students, supported by 160 staff.

Our Staff are instrumental in creating and maintaining our strong, positive culture. We know that staff perform at their best when they are encouraged by keen students within an environment of excellent behaviour. Students' behaviour depends on many factors: a solid sense of self-worth; good positive peer-group friendships and connections; belonging at school and at home, and an awareness of their ability to succeed – particularly outside the classroom.

A school becomes a 'good school' only when it has great staff. Great Staff "make it matter" and "make the student matter".

Billanook is committed to employing Staff who are aligned with the College's mission, vision, values and strategic direction and we work hard to ensure our recruitment and selection process is equitable, transparent, consistent and merit based.

We are a school driven by best practice and innovation. Being part of such a strong team has its rewards, not only in the quality of education provided to our students, but also in collegiate support, and personal and professional learning.

How to Apply

Please click on the 'Apply for this job' link.

Your application should include a cover letter addressed to the Principal, Mr Roger Oates, outlining your suitability to the requirements of the position and a resume.

Applications Close - 5.00pm on Friday 19 September 2025

The college reserves the right to make an appointment at any stage of the recruitment process, including prior to the closing date for applications. We thank you for your understanding.

Our Commitment to Child Safety
