**Who the Company is?**
Multicultural Youth South Australia Inc. (MYSA) is the South Australian state representative advisory, advocacy and service delivery body for young refugees and migrants aged between 12 and 30 years, the only youth-specific multicultural service provider in South Australia, and one of two leading youth-specific multicultural service providers in the country. Their key principles are to be responsive to the needs of young refugees and migrants, to work in partnership with them and their communities and to advocate for their needs.

**About the role**:
MYSA have an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant or finance officer to join their team in a part-time capacity (2 days per week). Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of the business.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage and maintain all aspects of MYSA’s financial systems and processes including banking, payroll, petty cash, ICT, audits, BAS, PAYG etc
- Development of yearly financial year budgets
- Preparation of budgets/cashflow forecasts as required
- Financial commentary on financial results and variances from budget
- Preparation of monthly management reports (including statement of profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow statement)
- Preparation/review and lodgment of BAS/IAS/FBT
- Processing of fortnightly payroll and creation of bank file
- Advising on award wages, allowances and individual staff contract management/salaries according to the SCHCDS award
- Assist and support senior staff with the development of budgets for prospective grants (budget proposals) as required
- Assist with preparation of acquittals and reconciliations
- Bookkeeping and year-end journal entries as required
- Preparation of unaudited year-end financial statements
**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate**:
- Accredited Bachelor degree such as a Bachelor of Accounting or Bachelor of Business (Accounting), member of Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountants Australia
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Proven communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to maintain professional integrity
- Effective administration and IT skills in a Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, Publisher and Power point
- Experience in the use of Xero
- Ability to maintain extremely high levels of confidentiality
- Must adhere to the administrative policies and procedures of MYSA
- Must be willing to provide an Australian Federal Police Clearance
- Must be willing to provide a Working with Children’s Clearance
- Ability to understand Workplace, Health and Safety and contribute to a safe workplace
