**About the Role**
Lead the development and delivery of equity outreach programs aimed at inspiring students from low socioeconomic, regional, rural, and remote communities to consider higher education at the University of Melbourne. You will design and implement workshops and campus immersion experiences that align with secondary school curricula, providing meaningful opportunities for students traditionally underrepresented in tertiary education. You will cultivate strategic partnerships with schools, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee the recruitment and training of student peer mentors. With scope to innovate and shape best practices, you will ensure effective operations while contributing to the key strategic goal of widening participation and empowering students to achieve their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and supporting the delivery of outreach initiatives to targeted high schools, offering curriculum-enhancing activities and workshops the align with secondary school curricula.
- Developing and delivering campus immersion opportunities and experiences that build student’s aspirations, and provide them with access to career development and industry engagement activities.
- Creating and implementing campus immersion opportunities to foster aspiration and provide access to career development and industry engagement, while collaborating with internal partners to deliver experiential learning initiatives such as case competitions, roadshows, and other activities within schools.
- Delivering presentations and programs in schools and communities to increase promotion and awareness of equity-based scholarships and opportunities, enhancing participation and access for students from diverse backgrounds.
**Who We Are Looking For**.
You will be a highly independent and self-motivated individual who is able to prioritise workloads and plan ahead effectively. With a strong understanding of both higher and secondary education, you will possess the critical thinking skills necessary to design programs and solutions that support student development and aspirations for higher education. Your professional knowledge will be complemented by your strong curriculum and learning design skills, as well as effective presentation abilities. Experience in planning, developing, and delivering education programs for secondary school audiences, coupled with a solid understanding of Victorian and national secondary school curricula is essential. Additionally, you will have a proven ability to identify, develop, and maintain relationships with a wide range of partners.
You also have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in education or educational programmes within a cultural or public engagement setting.
- A demonstrated understanding of community diversity, with a proven ability to utilise relevant skills and expertise to develop and deliver targeted and responsive equity programs.
- Strong planning, organisational, event, and project management skills, with experience coordinating staff for effective event and program delivery, and implementing continuous improvement practices.
