**About the Role**
Shape a culture of responsible research: lead our growing Education & Engagement team Heading up a dedicated team, you'll partner across OREI and beyond, crafting and delivering impactful education and engagement initiatives that contribute to the vibrant research culture at the University.

Strengthen responsible conduct, embed compliance, and support new policy implementation - your influence will resonate throughout the research landscape at the University. Collaborating with senior stakeholders, you'll build crucial relationships that fuel impactful change.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Lead and manage the team to design and deliver, in partnership with others, timely, relevant and impactful Education and Engagement initiatives to the University that promote the responsible conduct of research and a positive compliance culture.
- Develop, coach and mentor staff, managing performance and promoting a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the national and international codes, funding body requirements, regulatory schemes and the University’s policies which are relevant to OREI’s functions and the Responsible Conduct of Research.
- Initiate, develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders.

You will also have:

- a recognised and relevant qualification and relevant extensive experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training in a complex environment.
- Extensive experience leading and developing a team, with demonstrated ability to communicate key strategic objectives and support staff to achieve organisational goals in a large and complex environment.
- Demonstrated understanding, or an ability to gain an understanding, of the challenges faced by researchers, including but not limited to the _Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research _and the _National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research. _
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering impactful education and engagement initiatives.

The Office of Research Ethics and Integrity (OREI) provides expert advice, guidance and training to facilitate the ethical and responsible conduct of research. We partner with Chancellery and Academic Divisions to support multiple key areas of governance and oversight including: research integrity, human and animal research ethics, gene technology, biosecurity and biosafety, animal welfare, export controls, autonomous sanctions, quality assurance and clinical trials.
