**About Strategy and Culture and Museums and Collections Department**
The Strategy and Culture Portfolio works collaboratively across the University to support the development and delivery of the University’s strategic plan Advancing Melbourne. The portfolio is responsible for overseeing strategy and planning; policy; governance; and government, civic and community engagement at a whole-of-University level.

A new Museums and Collections Department has been established to ensure coordination and alignment with University objectives. The Department is responsible for Buxton Contemporary, Science Gallery Melbourne, The Ian Potter Museum of Art, Old Quad Treasury, MPavilion Parkville and the Grainger Museum. The aim of the Department is to build a collaborative and flexible network around the University’s cultural assets so students, staff members local and global communities gain knowledge and understanding of contemporary and traditional cultures, scientific discovery and creative practice.

**About the Role**
As the Learning & Outreach Manager for Visual Arts, your primary responsibility is to create and facilitate targeted learning opportunities for school communities that engage with the University's cultural assets. Your focus is to promote innovative and interdisciplinary pedagogical practices that support curriculum outcomes, with a particular emphasis on allowing students agency to express their own ideas through visual perception, language, techniques, technologies, and practices.

To achieve these objectives, you will work closely with the Head of Learning Experiences and Art Museums team to establish a curriculum-linked large-scale visual arts excursion and outreach program. This program will provide rich learning experiences that enable school students to engage with the University's cultural assets and develop their visual arts skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities include:

- Collaborate with the Learning Experiences Team to develop and co-design peer to peer learning programs supporting university students in employment and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Head of Learning Experiences and Art Museums team to deliver visual arts curriculum focused learning programs f or Museum & Collections venues including teacher professional development, online resources and launch events
- Manage the development, delivery and evaluation of the online resources for the VCE Art Making and Exhibition Design syllabus for Museum and Collections venues
- Develop and deliver curriculum focused outreach and access programs across all venues that target and engage specific groups including females, lower SES groups, disability access, LQBTQIA+, and First Nations people
- Oversee the day-to-day management of budgets, risk assessments, financial forecasting, and reporting.

**About You**

You will also have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification; or relevant experience in education or education programs in a cultural or public engagement environment
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering art education programs for secondary school audience.
- A comprehensive understanding of the Victorian and National Secondary School Curriculum
- A strong network in the Education sector and experience in developing teacher professional development
- Highly experienced in the co-design, planning, coordination, deliver and evaluation of education programs for secondary schools.
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
