Group Manager

**The role**:
The **Group Manager of Risk and Assurance** is responsible for helping our organisation effectively identify and manage risk and embed a risk-conscious culture.

This leadership position which sits on our Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CFO and oversees risk management, crisis management, management of the outsourced assurance function and the implementation of a document management system.

We are looking for an energetic and practical individual with collaborative partnering skills who influences effectively at all levels of the organisation.

This role is based in **Adelaide**, SA.

**Responsibilities**:
**Risk**
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders to mature our risk management framework revisiting our risk management policies, procedures and programs.
- Provide reporting, technical advice and leadership to our Executive Team, CEO, Board and ARCC.
- Partner with business leaders to identify, assess and prioritise risk management activities.
- Collaborate directly with worksites and teams creating practical plans, operational processes, and control actions.
- Lead risk review programs conducting simulations and response planning.
- Stay current, collaborating with external partners to identify emerging risks, monitor regulatory changes and incorporate into the Adbri organisation.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management activities and report on trends.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on risk identification, mitigation, and management.

**Crisis Management**
- Establish a framework of robust policies, procedures, and protocols to effectively navigate crisis management requirements.
- Guide the executive leadership team during crises, ensuring strategic decisions and actions are effective.

**Assurance**
- Manage the outsourced assurance function partnering with the provider to develop and implement annual and three-yearly audit plans ensuring alignment with the appropriate risks of the business.
- Ensure alignment of the assurance plan with the risk strategy to effectively mitigate potential risks.

**Document Management**
- Design and implement a systematic framework to manage the organisations policies, procedures and processes and promote continual improvement within.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business, or a related field

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk and assurance management or related field at senior level.
- Practical with strong partnering skills and the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Industry experience highly regarded but not essential.
- Drive to understand our business, mitigate risk, and enable sustained performance.
- Strong analytical bias with the ability to visually represent data.
- Senior leader level communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with risk management software and tools.
- Hands on experience with internal audit and managing outsourced assurance functions.
- Proven experience implementing crisis management plans.
- Experience with implementing document management systems.
