Configuration Managment Officer

**Due to increased shipyard workloads, Austal Ships has a new position available **to join the Configuration Management Capability of **Austal’s Project Management Office (PMO) based in Naval Base, WA**

**Austal **are seeking a motivated and experienced **Configuration Management Officer** to join our global ship-building company on a permanent and full-time basis The role is accountable to the **In-Service Support** **Configuration Lead** and will assist in the delivery of configuration management activities in support of Sustainment Defence and Commercial projects. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, knowledgeable CM team.

**_Key objectives & responsibilities include:_**
- Coordination and delivery of CM activities
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for Configuration Management processes and procedures
- Have knowledge of ASDEFCON configuration outputs
- Provide support and participate in the ISS change control process
- Support timely delivery of Configuration Status Accounting
- Collate and capture objective quality evidence in support of engineering changes and deviations
- Ensure adequate records are generated and maintained to reflect compliance to Configuration Management processes
- Release authorised configuration data, documentation and records in a controlled CM repository
- Conduct Physical Configuration Audits to verify accuracy of configuration records for Acquisition and Sustainment projects
- Provide data management and quality assurance support to CMMS
- Provide support to the PMO Configuration Management Lead as directed

**_Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:_**
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in a similar role desirable
- Formal Configuration Management training and Document Control or equivalent industry experience
- Strong organisational skills
- Experience in conducting Desktop and Physical Configuration Audits
- Good written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- A self-starter, who is proactive in using initiative to identify the tasks you can assist with and in finding solutions to problems
- Self-motivated, results orientated and able to work independently
