This is a great opportunity for an experienced banking / financial services operations leader to join a community based banking institution in a senior leadership role focused which will focus on driving automation and business process improvements as part of their digital transformation roadmap.

Reporting directly to the CFO and leading a team of approximately 15, you will oversee the Banking Operations function whilst providing leadership, supervision, support and guidance to the team, ensuring a timely, efficient and compliant service is provided to customers.

Specific responsibilities will include:

- Lead the day-to-day Banking Operations department including lending documentation and settlements, card issuances, payments, deposits products, supporting new and existing members and other operational processes as required.
- Lead the transformation of the Banking Operations department. Eliminate, standardise and automate processes to reduce risk and increase efficiency. Develop and execute a roadmap to build a scaleable function able to service member needs in line with growth aspirations.
- Leadership of the Operations teams. Ensuring appropriate skill sets for today and tomorrow and developing team members to support their career goals whilst creating a positive and collaborative environment.
- Review and uplift all policies, procedures and guidelines under area of management to ensure compliance and currency. Act reasonably to ensure services are provided within the code of conduct guidelines and conduct all business in compliance with all necessary regulative and legislative requirements.
- Play a broader leadership role across the Finance and Operations function and support the wider team in Core System design for new product developments and process improvements.
- Fulfil the role of Responsible Manager for both ACL and AFSL and as a Responsible Manager and undertake at least 20 hours of documented credit related training (CPD) each year.

Degree qualified, you will have a detailed knowledge of financial services products and systems, combined with in-depth experience leading an operations department within a banking or broader financial services department or regulated industry.

Additionally, you will have proven ability to drive business and process improvements, particularly in automation, process reengineering and standardisation.

With strong interpersonal and communication, leadership and engagement skills, your critical thinking, attention to detail and problem solving abilities will help enable your success in this role.
