**Finance Officer - General Accounting**

**About the role**:
We currently have an opportunity for a Finance Officer - General Accounting to join our Group Finance team with Ventia.

This position will be responsible for bank reconciliations, cash clearing and general accounting support to our Finance Managers.

You will have a key eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously and as part of the team. Exposure to SAP would be an advantage but not essential.

Joining the Ventia team you will become part of our Finance Academy initiative. This program brings together all Finance professionals across the business to partake in opportunities for continuous learning and training, mentoring programs, networking and social events aimed at promoting career development and recognition.

This is a fixed term maternity leave contract for role 12months. We offer flexible working with time in the office and working from home.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Support the team in the process of the corporate accounting as well as identifying and allocating intercompany cost within SAP.
- Prepare various month end journals.
- Perform Bank Account Clearing, including clearing the cash in/cash out GLs per payment files.
- Perform Bank Account Reconciliations.
- Investigating and resolving the differences and discrepancies.

**About you**:

- Tertiary level qualifications in Finance or Accounting.
- CA or CPA (or studying) preferred.
- Preference 3+ years’ experience in similar position.
- Demonstrated business knowledge in Accounting/Finance.
- Preference for accounting experience working in large organisations.
