We are hiring a **Hardship Officer** responsible for the management of customers who request and are provided hardship with a view to returning their accounts back to full repayment. You will provide recommendations as to the best strategy to manage a customer's individual situation within the best interests of the business and manage each file to a satisfactory conclusion.

**Your role**:
- Evaluate customer's ability and / or intent to maintain payments.
- Maximise collections and recoveries strategies for all accounts in Hardship.
- Accurately document, monitor and evaluate payment proposals and approve in line with delegated authority or recommend for approval.
- Recommend action to recover debts by providing review insights to assist with determining the best method of recovery whilst reducing business risk.
**What you bring**:
- At least 3 years in a Collections / Hardship environment.
- Experience working with administrators / liquidators, auctioneers, valuers, mercantile agencies and legal practitioners.
- Demonstrated background - successful credit analysis, and debt collection and recovery.
- Team player with demonstrated empathy, negotiation skills and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem solving skills and high attention to detail.
