- We are currently seeing an experienced Property Officer ideally with 2-5 years' experience in property for a temporary opportunity in Local Government.
About the role:
To deliver practical and customer-focused advice and support across Council to lead the acquisition of property interests associated with infrastructure projects, general property transactions, tenure management and other property matters.
- Deliver specialist advice to support property transactions;
- Draft, negotiate and administer legal agreements to give effect to property transactions (including but not limited to leases and licences);
- Negotiate and manage contracts of sale (together with Councils external legal providers) for the sale and acquisition of property;
- Draft Council reports seeking resolutions to progress property transactions;
- Draft amendments to template documents to support projects being managed by the Corporate Property team;
- Draft policies to support the work of the Corporate Property team; and
- Provide advice on general property related matters.
- Deliver specialist advice to support property transactions;

- Negotiate and manage contracts of sale (together with Councils external legal providers) for the sale and acquisition of property.
- Ability to negotiate a range of solutions to complex property management issues in accordance with statutory, imposed or other constraints
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to manage diverse groups and stakeholders
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to handle people in conflict situations and successfully negotiate solutions
- Strong leadership skills to provide direction and encouragement to direct reports to meet the requirements of their roles
- Proficient administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internal computer software
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write and compile sometimes complex reports including Council reports, draft policies and submissions/tenders
- Innovative ideas to review and analyse situations, procedures and systems recommending and implementing changes where appropriate.
