This allows our inmates/transferees to feel heard, appreciated and treated with the utmost respect and in a culturally appropriate way. Our aim is to improve relationships and reduce stressors for inmates/transferees, so they feel cared for.

We are seeking an Operational (Security) Supervisor to join our team at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise existing skills in a FIFO environment, working a 6 week on, 3 week off roster.

**About the Role**

In your role as Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the activities of Security Officers to transferees are processed, moved, and accommodated in a safe, secure and timely manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- build and maintain a productive working relationship with team members, transferees and stakeholders
- ensure transferees are processed, moved, and accommodated in a safe, secure and timely manner
- maintain accurate and correct information in various forms and reports in a timely manner
- assist and facilitate with the intake, induction and discharge of transferees from the Centre
- report incidents in line with reporting guidelines
- ensure external movement is in line with the relevant plans
- ensure the safe and humane processing of transferees within our care, through collaboration with other departments
- ensure daily headcounts/musters/checks are conducted and correct
- attend regular training and refresher sessions to maintain skills and qualifications including but not limited to cultural awareness, mental health, CPR and first aid

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- a Certificate Level II in Security Operations (or equivalent qualification)
- experience working in a dynamic operation e.g., Correctional, Policing or Detention environment
- emergency response or incident management experience (highly desirable)
- the willingness and ability to undertake induction training, work and live in a tropical environment on Nauru
- the highest standard of social responsibility, personal honesty and integrity
- proficient interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
- a flexible and adaptable approach to varied working situations
- high level computer literacy and report writing skills, including Microsoft programs
- superior cross cultural awareness
- the ability to work successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- proven right to work in Australia
- willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Check
- a current Working with Children Card
- a current First Aid Certificate
- evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 (double vaccinated) plus one booster with a vaccine recognised in Australia
