Internal Communications Specialist

The role is primarily responsible for creating and implementing internal/employee communications content and contributing to programs that actively engage internal audiences across the NEC Australia business.

You will also translate key business strategies into key messages, develop appropriate internal communications initiatives in support of those strategies, and execute and drive programs that create excitement, drive engagement, align teams and shape culture.

**The role will have the following key accountabilities**:

- Lead the creation of Internal Communications content
- Implement corporate communication programs including internal & external communication initiatives
- Create a best-in-class internal communications function across the business that fuels employee engagement, influences connectivity and culture, positively impacting all offices
- Work with the Executive team to deliver corporate communication initiatives
- Work with global communication content for wider distribution to Australian business
- Support employee engagement and the creation of positive internal communications environment that helps NEC Australia achieve its culture change, internal communications, employee satisfaction and retention goals.
- Develops communication materials using a variety of tactics (written communications, presentation materials, Teams and other platforms, town halls, small group meetings, etc.) to articulate key messages.
- Ensures communication messaging and materials are high quality, accurate, appropriate and integrated with firm priorities and themes.
- Uses internal tools as appropriate to maximize NECs internal communication effectiveness and ensures consistent messaging, branding, imagery and identity.
- Assists in the planning, coordination and execution of internal employee events as needed and appropriate.
- Assists in writing and editing impactful and engaging content that effectively describes and promotes Diversity & Inclusion, Recruitment, Professional Development, Human Resources and other programs and initiatives in support of NEC’s goals and culture.
- Manages content for NEC intranet, ensuring that it is up-to-date, engaging, and informative.
- Implements metrics reports to measure effectiveness of internal communication channels and measures internal communications with the goal of continuously improving internal communications strategy to reach and engage employees

**The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience**:

- 3+ years’ experience working in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement or public relations
- Ability to build rapport with key stakeholders
- Possesses outstanding oral and written communications skills including superior writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to think analytically and develop solutions that meet the business needs
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality results on-time
- Highly motivated, persuasive, priority-driven and collaborative
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Willingness to build relationships and collaborate across the broader business environment, Marketing, People and Culture, Executive and other teams
- Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with partners and staff at all levels
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
- Degree in Communications / Journalism or marketing related field
