**Job Responsibilities**:

- Process and review incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Obtain proper authorization and approval for invoices, ensuring adherence to company approval hierarchy.
- Prepare payments file and liaise with group finance to ensure timely payments to suppliers.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions including bounce backs and bank reconciliations.
- Perform reconciliations including supplier statements and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, including contact information, payment terms, and ABN numbers.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and address any payment-related concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies, clarify invoice details, and improve invoice processing efficiency.
- Monitor and manage outstanding accounts payable balances to ensure timely payments and avoid disruptions to vendor relationships.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain various reports, such as aging reports, expense analyses, and vendor performance evaluations.
- Assist auditors during annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to accounts payable processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to accounts payable processes and technologies.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 1 - 2 years experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounts Payable Specialist, or similar role in a scale up environment.
- Proficient in using accounting software, xero and SAP ByDesign an advantage.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, procedures, and financial statements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a high volume of transactions and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities while remaining focused, and efficiently manage assignments.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
- Prior experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to accounts payable is desirable.
- Problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
- Adaptability and willingness to embrace process improvements and change.
