This large federal government department enables access to quality skills, training, and employment to support Australians to find secure work in fair, productive and safe workplaces. This particular team is responsible for the management and development of all legislation in relation to improving the quality of VET industry.

**Your new role**

Your new role as an EL1 Legal Policy officer will see you focus on priority VET reforms and regulatory policy to ensure providers are delivering quality and sufficient training. Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and contributing to legislation amendments to the Act and Instruments that provide authorities with regulatory powers.
- The development of policy advice for the Minister and other key government stakeholders, including briefings, presentations and policy papers.
- Work collaboratively with external stakeholders including Regulatory Authorities to oversee the regulation of the VET sector.

**What you'll need to succeed**

You will be a high-performing permanent EL1 who is looking for a section 26 transfer to another government department as well as possessing the following skills & experience:

- You will have demonstrated and be able to provide high quality written advice quickly across a range of complex legislation and policy.
- You will possess the interpersonal skills to have a great working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- A background in regulatory policy or having relevant qualifications in law would be seen as highly regarded.
- A baseline clearance
