The Infrastructure and Place (I&P) division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which eases congestion, improves safety, create new places and will connect communities for generations to come. **The Project**

The M6 Stage 1 Project is a $3.1 billion road tunnel project which will provide a new twin tunnel motorway connection between the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe and President Avenue at Kogarah. The project has been awarded to our Design and Construct (**D&C**) Contractor and will be the first stage in completing the missing link from southern Sydney to the Sydney motorway network, making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will allow users to bypass up to 23 sets of traffic lights on the Princes Highway between St Peters and Kogarah and remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities. Additional benefits to the community, to name a few, will include the provision of new shared cycle and pedestrian pathways, new intersection at President Avenue including the widening and raising of President Avenue at this location, new service utilities including a permanent power supply line, and adjustments to local roads in the project area.

**The opportunity**

This role will be embedded within and support the broader M6 Stage 1 project team. We are seeking an experienced individual with excellent commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement and project management skills to be part of this motivated and diverse team to fulfil the role of **Commercial Manager**.

As the Commercial Manager, you will report to the Director Commercial with responsibility for contract management, commercial advice, financial management, internal governance matters and people management.

Key activities of the role include:

- Supporting the Director Commercial in the provision of strategic commercial advice for the M6 Stage 1 Project
- Manage and administer the day to day commercial administration of the D&C Deed other contracts and agreements including the interface agreements and stakeholder agreements
- Provide information to the Director Commercial on the commercial performance of Project contracts and agreements
- Leading, advising and providing recommendations to project teams on contractual issues or claims (i.e. entitlement, submission requirements, evaluating costs claimed etc.). Including drafting the appropriate correspondence to manage these matters effectively
- Plan and prepare reports and briefing notes with input from Project team members
- Maintain and manage the Interface Agreements register
- Communicate and work collaboratively with the Contractor to resolve key interface issues to the benefit of the Project
- Provide mentoring / coaching to the Contracts Administrators and Senior Contract Administrators. You will also support the various project teams in commercial and contractual matters.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A track record of having worked within infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of the project environment and commercial and contractual issues that arise in the delivery of infrastructure projects
- Commercial acumen gained from prior commercial management or equivalent roles in the infrastructure sector (either from the private sector or similar government roles)
- The ability to quickly and efficiently understand and resolve issues that arise from delivering projects across a diverse portfolio
- Strong verbal/written communication and relationship management skills with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
- Relevant tertiary qualification(s), which may include commerce, business, engineering, construction management, project management or law.
