Position Purpose

The purpose of this position is to drive engineering & maintenance within the business; developing the policy, systems, processes, and measures, and coordinating engineering & maintenance projects across the business.

Areas of Responsibility
- Proactively promote all aspects of safety and actively use the safety connections system
- Meet KPI's for safety connection (e.g. Critical risk surveys, tool box talks, safety walks)
- Direct and prioritise site engineering team activities to make the best use of technical resources.
- Scope, design, and cost engineering projects including capital submissions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through new capital works, modification to existing designs and processes, improve production techniques, and develop appropriate test procedures.
- Oversee & supervise the maintenance team of fitters, electricians, and contractors to repair of all Minto site facilities and operating equipment to deliver a reliable plant operating within control.
- Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns to determine immediate and root causes of failures.
- Reduce cost of maintenance through the effective implementation of a preventative & planned maintenance program and supervision of maintenance staff and contractors.
- Determine accurately to on reasons for failure and suggested modifications to design and/or system if required.
- Develop SOPs for common maintenance tasks and ensure training to follow these procedures is in place
- Demonstrate an active involvement in and support for company initiatives, both locally and globally.
- Maintains confidentiality, models correct behaviour.
- Actively promote all aspects of Quality & Environment.
- Meet KPI's for Quality targets.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Tertiary qualifications in appropriate fields (Engineering)
- 10+ years of engineering / maintenance management experience, preferably with experience in managing multiple or integrated maintenance and engineering teams
- Track experience in a management role, organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
- Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
- Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
