In your new role as National Base Coordinator, Flight Operations, you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating processes and policies pertaining to the operation of our flight crew bases to assist driving a high performing culture and an engaged workforce. You will also be the key support to the Manager in ensuring an efficient operation with a continuous improvement philosophy, as well as oversee medium to long term National Projects with an emphasis on standardisation for Flight Crew and Base Operations.
Other aspects of the role will see you coordinating activities, meetings, correspondence and projects relating to flight operations and flight crew, including scheduling and resourcing matters, compliance and mandatory training reporting, grievance management, aircrew licensing, award interpretation, and WHS related matters. You will draw upon your wealth of knowledge and sound judgement to make effective decisions, often with limited or no consultation or escalation to the Manager. Additionally, you will be accountable for generating reports; such as flight crew leave, or mandatory training, as well as overseeing people safety, administrative and operational issues.
You’ll have:
- Strong interpersonal skills to consult and liaise with key stakeholders
- High level of computer competency and proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with an ability to learn new technology quickly
- Great organisational skills with the ability to work through a number of conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communications skills, and skills in building relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, exercising discretion and tact at all times
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivation and the strive to excel in a fast-paced team environment
- Previous experience in the aviation industry
- Knowledge of Awards and Agreements covering Flight Crew or operational award (desirable)
