About the Role
Through sharing the learnings and wisdom from the personal lived experience perspective:
- Provide personalised peer support and practical assistance to consumers to inspire hope and the belief that recovery is possible.
- Utilising lived experience expertise and a trauma informed care perspective of accessing services to advocate with consumers, enhancing their awareness and knowledge to maximise system navigation and reduce power imbalances.
- Engaging consumers of Continuing Care Teams through targeted conversations to maximise their self-determination in their recovery journey.
- Assist consumers within Adult Mental Health Services, key service providers and non-government organisations to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework.
- Inspire and support consumers through tailored education, information, referrals and support to learn the skills and knowledge to build resilience for mental and physical healthcare needs and to engage in their community.
