The Opportunity
Embrace the opportunity to lead as an Agile Delivery Lead - Group Scrum Master This exciting role will ideally be based out of our Melbourne or Sydney offices. As Agile Delivery Lead, you will be entrusted with the ownership and accountability for the continuous improvement of the System of Work. This system is the cornerstone of how business and technical teams collaborate to identify, define, and deliver changes that are in line with Vocus’ strategic objectives. Your role is pivotal in shaping the way we work, driving efficiency, and fostering a culture of excellence. Join us and make a significant impact on our journey towards success.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
- Own the System of Work, including Confluence describing standard operations, Jira and associated reports.
- Run group level ceremonies that co-ordinate the work of 4 Mission and 8 software engineering teams. Ceremonies include Product Increment Planning, Scrum of scrums, group level retros.
- Own group level risk management and mitigation through relevant risk owners.
- Provide insight to delivery progress of the PI Plan, proactively identifying blockers and resolving through direct action or escalation.
- Manage scrum masters, ensuring they intimately understand the system of work, and are facilitating teams through the system of work.
- Mentor delivery leads to enable Mission and software engineering teams to work in alignment with the System of Work.
- Drive continuous improvement in the system of work, using performance metrics, retros and other relevant inputs to identify improvements.
What you’ll bring to this role
- 5 years as a Group Scrum Master, and 5 years as a scrum master in complex, fast paced environments
- Relevant scrum master qualification (Scrum, Safe or Nexus)
- Advanced Jira user. Able to manage PI plans with Advanced roadmaps.
- Advanced Confluence user. Able to provide views of Jira data in Confluence.
- Ideal: Experience using PowerBI to calculate and report performance based on analysis of Jira cards.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to ensure consistency of standards/procedures and promote efficiencies.
- Well-developed relationship building skills.
- Able to work to committed timeframes.
- Strong leadership characteristics.
- Negotiation, conflict management skills.
- Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Gitlab and Microsoft office products.
