**Position Information**:
Menai Public School is a close-knit, inclusive school where every student is encouraged to learn and grow in a beautiful bushland setting. We are a school striving for excellence and one that provides quality education in a nurturing, community-focused environment. Current enrolment of 158 including 7 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The student numbers are expected to rise over the coming years and the school is planning strategically to facilitate this anticipated growth.

Our school has a dedicated team of professionals with classroom teachers, support and administrative staff working collaboratively who share responsibility for student improvement. Our school staff are passionate and committed to continually improving their practice and supporting all students by creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria:

- Outstanding capacity to inspire and model highly effective educational practices and continuous improvement, and foster innovative, future focused teaching and learning, including diverse curriculum opportunities and pathways for all students, whilst leading through a time of change
- Extensive capacity to proactively communicate and visibly engage with the entire school community in authentic ways that are culturally sensitive and innovative with a strong commitment to maintaining valuable partnerships with parents and the wider community
- Proven ability to lead Aboriginal Education across the school and community and ensure Aboriginal Histories and Cultures are authentically embedded by staff across all teaching and learning programs
- Highly developed leadership skills in supporting the implementation of quality teaching and learning programs to meet diverse learning needs of students to enhance their wellbeing, engagement and performance

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
