Position InformationMount Lewis Infants School is a K-2 school, located in the Bankstown/Greenacre area. It has a steady enrolment of 173 students with approximately 15 full time staff and several part time staff. Mount Lewis Infants School is held in high regard by the local community and is recognised for the positive and inclusive environment that is part of the school culture.
The student body is comprised of 98% of students from a non-English speaking background, attracting additional staff to support students' English language acquisition. The 80% of students from an Arabic speaking background are supported by a part time Arabic Community Language Teacher.
The school has a strong focus on literacy, developing strong foundations in phonics, reading, writing, comprehension, speaking and listening. InitiaLit is used across the school and is showing improved results that are sustained from year to year. Numeracy is also strongly supported through programs, resourcing and specialist staff. Play based learning continues to be a school priority.
The Learning and Support Team play an integral role in the school and support strong transition programs P-K and Year 2- Year 3.
The community has high expectations of the school and works enthusiastically in a three-way partnership between parents/carers, staff and students.

- Outstanding interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with all key stakeholders, clarifying school purpose and vision that will celebrate and enhance the rich culture of the whole community.
- Strong pedagogical knowledge of Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 education practice to continue to lead the development of differentiated and innovative teaching practices.
- Demonstrated ability to know, value and understand each individual to nurture student, and whole school wellbeing in a diverse community.
High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P1 for 2025 and Principal Level P1 for 2026.
