Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
An exciting Permanent Full Time opportunity has become available within the Private Patients Liaison Team located at Nepean Hospital. This customer focused role will provide service to staff, patients and clients of NBMLHD, ensuring effective outcomes in relation to revenue, cash flow and maintain quality assurance, in compliance with NSW Ministry of Health and NBMLHD policy.
The successful incumbent will thoroughly assess all Emergency Department and direct to ward admissions to determine their correct classification (MAA, DVA, workers’ compensation, ineligible overseas visitors, armed forces serving members, etc.). This position is on a 7-day rotating roster to provide the support required to ensure that admitted patients are presented with the correct election choices relative to their admission circumstance and that these details are recorded correctly.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Exceptional customer service, verbal communication and negotiation skills and ability to have difficult conversations with patients and their families
- Willingness and ability to work a 7-day rotating roster with demonstrated ability to be flexible
- Accurate word processing skills and demonstrated competent use of computer programs including, Word, Excel and electronic patient records
- Ability to work independently and problem solve with limited guidance
- Demonstrated high level organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands, with mínimal direction, to ensure timely completion of all work
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and accurate documentation and correspondence
- Ability to undertake documentation reviews and quality checks
