**About the role**

Every one of our team contributes to helping make our members’ world better. As an **Assurance Specialist** in our Group Risk and Assurance team, you are responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the Group’s assurance processes (including the assurance map) in collaboration with the Assurance Manager.

Key responsibilities:

- Ensure procedures, reporting and governance are adequately implemented and continuously managed as part of the Group’s Assurance Framework
- Complete 2nd line assurance engagements from planning and fieldwork through to reporting
- Conduct and/or co-ordinate the effective execution of assurance activities and testing over key controls to mitigate material risks and business obligations
- Provide internal stakeholders with practical, compliant, and commercially focussed advice, ensuring solutions achieve group objectives in line with RMF and Board risk appetites and tolerances.

**About you**

You are an excellent communicator and problem solver with a keen interest for process improvement and risk management. We highly value experience in a large organisation or a background in consulting.
Furthermore, your skills, qualifications and experience may include the following:

- Law, Commerce, Business or other relevant tertiary degree and relevant work experience in risk, compliance and/or assurance functions relevant to superannuation and/or financial services
- Good knowledge of superannuation legislation and industry standards and practices, including best practice risk and compliance frameworks
- Ability to critically assess complex information and simplify it for communication to others
- Project management experience with demonstrated ability in managing concurrent tasks and projects including meeting critical deadlines
