**The essential requirements for this role are**:

- Extensive experience in successfully leading corporate governance activities in a large, complex and highly regulated public sector organisation.
- Experience in, and understanding of, contemporary business governance, management, risk and subordinate processes.
- Proven ability in designing and implementing contemporary and fit for purpose corporate governance frameworks, systems, and processes.
- Experience in coordinating the publication and development of public sector annual reports.
- Stakeholder management skills including liaising with senior executives to develop plans that support strategic priorities.
- Experience in a criminal justice environment or similar human services/regulatory agency.
- Strategic analysis and planning skills and the ability to analyse and interpret data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, regulations and standards relevant to corrective services, risk management and public sector governance.
- Leadership and management skills including the ability to lead a team in a transformational environment, including agile thinking and ability to embrace change that supports achievement of team priorities and plans.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to and alignment with QCS vision, purpose, values and strategic plan objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to act with high levels of integrity, and make ethical, evidencebased decisions, as well as an appreciation for diversity and equity in the workplace.
- Formal qualifications in business, management, risk management, public policy (or a related discipline) would be highly regarded.
- Membership and/or certification with the Risk Management Institute of Australasia (AMIA) or an applicable professional body would be well regarded.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
