The Governance unit ensures that the department's governance, performance and planning is effectively and professionally delivered. The unit oversees the department's risk and human rights management, provides specialist support in the development and delivery of strategies and policies, and coordinates other whole of department responses/activities as required.As the Manager Corporate Governance (AO8), you will: - Lead the management of strategic governance activities, such as Estimates preparations, providing comprehensive management and coordination between divisions, the Director-General and Minister's office. Provide expert advice and interpretation on the establishment and deployment of contemporary performance systems and reporting frameworks in a large and complex organisation. Proactively manage projects, programs of work and project team members. Oversee the analysis and preparation of timely, accurate and informative reporting on governance and risk matters to provide strategic insights to executives and departmental committees, while monitoring opportunities and threats in a demanding and changing operating environment and identifying potential emerging risks. Drive opportunities for continual improvement to achieve a contemporary operating environment which applies best practice approaches to risk management and governance and seeks to achieve an integrated approach with strategic and operational planning and performance monitoring activities. Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review and reporting of the department's governance framework and risk system, including the risk management policy and framework, with thorough understanding of legislative requirements, ISO standards, and government expectations. Build effective working relationships within the department, with central agencies and other departments and agencies and professionally represent the interests of the department.
