**About Us**
FMI Building Innovation is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-performance glass and building solutions across Australia and New Zealand. Our Melbourne-based Glass Plant is preparing for a busy holiday period, and we’re looking for a reliable **casual Dispatcher** to join our team leading up to Christmas, with the possibility of ongoing work into the new year and beyond.

**About the Role**
As a Dispatcher, you’ll be at the heart of our operations — playing a critical role in the smooth and efficient running of our dispatch area. This isn’t just a back-of-house job; you’ll be a key link between our production team, warehouse staff, drivers, and customers.

Your day will involve coordinating the movement of high-performance glass products, ensuring each order is accurately prepared, carefully handled, and dispatched on time. You’ll be responsible for making sure everything is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there — all while upholding our high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

This role requires strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a calm, organised approach — especially when things get busy (which they often do during the pre-Christmas rush).

**Your duties will include**:

- Loading and unloading of trucks
- Preparing and checking dispatch manifests
- Quality control of outgoing glass orders
- Communicating effectively with warehouse and driving teams
- Ensuring timely and accurate order dispatch

**What You’ll Need**
Good computer skills (experience with dispatch software is a plus)
Current forklift licence
Physically fit — able to lift up to 30kg
Strong attention to detail
Flexible and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious

**Nice to have (but not essential)**:

- Experience delivering fragile materials or building products
- Basic knowledge of glass handling (training provided)
