Your part in St Andrew’s War Memorial

Supporting with the maintenance and grounds services across our hospital facility.

Further details of job description.- Support with repairs, refurbishments and undertake routine preventative or scheduled maintenance activity promptly and to the highest standard to ensure all employees and visitors safety while at our facilities.- General grounds upkeep, landscaping - overseeing any external contractors- Work undertaken may include but not be limited to:
- Maintenance and repairs of hospital buildings and equipment such as minor wall repairs, patching, painting and cleaning- Non licenced repairs such as resolving water leaks and concrete/paving repairs;- Conducting critical plant checks (where trained to do so)- Servicing air handling units, pumps and fans- Assisting tradespersons as required and responding promptly to reactive maintenance requirements, including minor department and common area maintenance, for example servicing taps, changing light globes and other minor repairs.- Ensure all plant, fittings and equipment meet regulatory compliance standards.- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner with work undertaken to a high standard- Ensuring all work activity is documented/logged in the asset management system.- Ensure that maintenance activity occurs within agreed timeframes as set in consultation with the relevant supervisor.- Ensure work undertaken by external contractors meets the hospital standards, policy or procedure or the agreed scope of work and escalate concerns as required- Actively participate in site meetings, tool box talks and mandatory staff training as required-
What makes a difference for us?
- Experience in general building, plant and equipment maintenance
- Experience in gardening/landscape/grounds maintenance, including
- Knowledge of herbicides, pesticides and safe work practices
- Relevant Trade Qualifications or Certificate in Facilities, Building or Construction
- Current Australian driver’s license
