Organisational Relationships

This role reports to the Manager Strategy, Governance and Risk and liaises with all internal stakeholders, peers in water corporations or local government, government agencies and members of the public. The Governance Coordinator is also responsible for supervising the Governance Officer

Position Objectives The Governance Coordinator:

- Coordinates and provides direction for the operation of the governance function in accordance with relevant legislation in an effective, efficient, and innovative manner.
- Provides high level support to the Corporation's Board of Directors through the preparation and coordination of materials for the Board and nominated Board sub-committees as required.

This includes acting as a liaison between the Corporation's Directors, Executive Management and staff and act as the central co-ordination point for Board processes and information dissemination.
- Promotes good governance practices across the organisation by developing systems, policies, and procedures in accordance with legislative requirements and the Corporation's needs.
- Provides support to the Manager Strategy, Governance and Risk in responding to freedom of information requests and privacy breaches and enquiries.
- Provides leadership and support in the training and development of staff in corporate governance principles and procedures.

Key Responsibility Areas
- Coordinate high level support to the Board of Directors; ensuring the smooth operations of Board affairs and assist with the preparation and distribution of agendas, reports, and minutes in a Board environment.
- Coordinating the preparation and execution of Board and Committee official business engagements including attendance at conferences, partner engagements and professional development opportunities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and other guidelines relevant to the corporate governance function of the Corporation.
- Provide guidance and support to all business units on corporate governance principles including conflicts of interest, gifts, benefits and hospitality, freedom of information and privacy matters.
- Carry out any other duties as directed.
