**The Role**
Seeking an experienced learning and development specialist with expertise in education or training program design, coordination, scheduling and operational planning.
- Working under limited direction and with reasonable autonomy as a member of a small, multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for:

- Providing expert advice in youth development, youth safety, experiential learning, sail training and program delivery
- Designing best practice youth development, outdoor education and experiential learning programs in the context of sail training
- Undertaking industry research and program evaluation to inform continuous improvement, documented in program manuals and resource guides
- Developing the annual voyage schedule, liaising with stakeholders to balance competing priorities and optimise delivery
- Managing selection of youth participants and reporting on participation, diversity, accessibility and participant outcomes
- Coordinating international exchanges, corporate training and community day sails
- Developing and delivering on line and in person facilitator training packages
- Writing and presenting policies, research papers and other business documents

The Youth Development and Voyage Coordinator participates in an out-of-hours duty roster when Sail Training Ship Young Endeavour is at sea, and will join two voyages each year to inform program evaluation (requiring an assessment of fitness for duty at sea).

**About our Team**
The Young Endeavour Youth Scheme (YEYS) is a Commonwealth program delivering world class development opportunities for young Australians aboard Sail Training Ship Young Endeavour. Our small team is comprised of passionate and experienced individuals responsible for program development, youth crew selection and administration, marketing communication and partnerships, commercial operations and governance. We work closely with Navy and Defence to deliver the Young Endeavour Program, support youth policy outcomes, maintain community partnerships and build awareness of Navy in the community.

The YEYS team is currently dual focused - delivering a program of youth development voyages around Australia, and preparing for program expansion, offering a unique opportunity to design of the youth development program to be delivered in STS Young Endeavour II.

We are looking for a proactive team player, who brings substantial expertise in youth program development and delivery, as well as operational planning and coordination; and can work collaboratively to achieve results during a period of organisational change and program expansion.
- Demonstrate personal accountability, and the ability to manage competing priorities and execute initiatives to achieve outcomes;
- Enjoy working under limited direction in a fast paced, cyclic work environment, and be willing to collaborate and pitch in to support colleagues in a small team;
- Possess very strong written and interpersonal communication skills, and be capable of working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders;
- Have proven research skills, a good level of computer literacy including MS Office and CRM systems, and experience analysing and presenting data to inform program development;
- Bring operational planning experience in the maritime environment, outdoor education sector or similar; and
