**The Role**
The Young Endeavour Youth Scheme is seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing and Communication Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will join an integrated APS/ADF team and be responsible for delivering brand, customer and engagement outcomes, as well as contributing to program expansion over the forward two years.

You will design and implement strategies and campaigns that build awareness, enhance participant and stakeholder experiences, generate inspiring content for traditional and digital platforms, and promote opportunities for young Australians to participate in our youth development program.

The role is based at Garden Island NSW with access to flexible arrangements around office work and some travel, including sailing in STS Young Endeavour.

**About our Team**
The Young Endeavour Youth Scheme is a Commonwealth program providing young Australians aged 16-23 with a challenging and inspirational experience at sea aboard Sail Training Ship Young Endeavour.
Reporting to an Advisory Board appointed by the Minister, our team is responsible for program development, youth crew selection and administration, marketing communication and partnerships, commercial operations and governance. We also administer the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme Public Fund Trust.

We work closely with Navy and other groups within Defence to deliver the Young Endeavour Program, to support youth policy outcomes, to maintain strong community partnerships and to build awareness of Navy in the community.

The team is currently dual focused - delivering a program of youth development voyages around Australia, and preparing for program expansion following the introduction into service of a larger, state-of-the-art sail training ship.

You will demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills, be able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines, and have experience managing campaigns and budgets.

You will think strategically, demonstrate initiative and work independently under broad direction.

You will enjoy collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including senior leaders, stakeholders, suppliers and media, and be confident building relationships across Defence and within the civilian community.

You will be experienced in digital marketing, public relations and community engagement, be able to track and use data to inform campaign decisions, and deliver clear plans to achieve business objectives.

You will be passionate about our aim and values, and will work with the Navy staff crew aboard STS Young Endeavour to identify and share impactful stories, and to deliver an engaging program of events and information campaigns for audiences around Australia.
