**Your new role**:
We are seeking an experienced Risk, Compliance and Internal Controls Specialist to assist Customer Group's Management Assurance team to test operational key controls and to help with a review of compliance obligations.

The focus of the role will be testing key controls as part of Medibank's Controls Assurance Program alongside other tasks such as:

- Working with the business to review compliance obligations to identify and remediate control gaps.
- Assisting the business to review and analyse risk registers, including identification of risk causes, controls and development of action plans to address control gaps.
- Identification and development of new controls relating to Medibank's CPS230 implementation program.
- Validation of operational risk and compliance incidents and general advice to the business concerning incident management.
- Provision of general risk and compliance advice to the business
- Please note that this is a 6-month contract opportunity with the possibility of extension.

**Key Skills**:

- 7+ years’ experience in a management assurance, risk and compliance or internal audit role (ideally in a PHI, general insurance, or other highly regulated industries)
- Demonstrated ability to test the design and effectiveness of operational key controls confidently and to work with management to agree upon robust remediation actions
- You thrive when working independently and can manage competing demands and multiple priorities with ease
- Experienced in maintaining risk and compliance registers and databases (GRC system)
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- A keen eye for attention to detail
