- Close to Wynyard station with hybrid work arrangements (2 office days per week as standard)
- New role, transform our People Partnering and Wellbeing function

**About us**

At the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), we’re dedicated to carrying out meaningful work that drives improvements and elevates student achievement across NSW, now and into the future.

We accomplish this by supporting all school sectors with high-quality syllabuses, assessment (including managing the HSC and NAPLAN), teaching standards (e.g., accrediting teachers) and school environments (including setting and monitoring school standards).

NESA is a unique organisation in NSW (of around 700 FTE staff) with significant state-wide impact, visit our website to learn more about the important work we do.

**About the role**

It’s an exciting time to join the People and Culture (P&C) function at NESA. We are in a period of growth, transforming our operating model and service offerings to enable exceptional business outcomes. In addition to enhancing delivery of core operational services and pursuing new enabling technology solutions, the People and Culture team is responsible for designing and delivering an exciting agenda of strategic people priorities and programs.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer as part of the P&C leadership team, the Manager People Partnering and Wellbeing will lead the establishment of stakeholder-centric business partnering and wellbeing functions, building a profile as trusted advisor and developing a capable, high performing team. This role is critical to enabling leaders and teams to effectively manage, develop and engage their workforce, resolve people management issues, successfully implement workforce programs and drive a positive culture of care and wellbeing.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to:

- Establish and embed a proactive People Partnering function, positioning the team as front-facing, responsive, trusted partners through the provision of high-quality advice, strategic and operational services, and workforce consulting solutions
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight of the Safety and Wellbeing function for NESA, leading integrated approaches to complex case matters and guiding the design and delivery of projects and programs to proactively foster wellbeing across the organisation
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of the business and champion the use of workforce insights to inform people priorities and ensure workforce programs are integrated with business strategies and plans to drive successful outcomes
- Inspire and lead team members, provide coaching, and professional development to build engagement and capability and embed a culture of stakeholder centricity, accountability, and service excellence
- Lead the implementation planning of people programs, projects, policy initiatives and cyclical workforce activities, monitor compliance and effectiveness, and share insights and stakeholder feedback with P&C leads and relevant stakeholders
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, policy obligations, industry trends and practices to identify, recommend and deliver high quality and compliant solutions

**About you**

To be successful, you will need:

- Extensive experience in the delivery of integrated people partnering advice and services across the full range of people, culture, safety and wellbeing areas at a whole-of-organisation level and in complex settings
- Demonstrated track record in successfully developing and maintaining strong relationships of trust and credibility with senior leaders and people managers
- A high degree of energy and resilience; someone who will relish the opportunity to transform services and establish NESA’s People Partnering and Wellbeing functions

We invite you to download the role description and welcome queries to Michelle Carlon on the contact details above.

At NESA you'll benefit from:

- An organisation where your contribution has a big impact, and you collaborate directly with senior leaders
- An enviable CBD location (all modes of transport nearby, and excellent coffee and eateries) with refurbished offices
- Flexible working arrangements and generous leave entitlements
- Access to discounted health and fitness memberships via Fitness Passport, an employee assistance program and annual flu vaccinations
- Salary packaging options
- Working in a purpose driven and ethical organisation with committed colleagues

**Ready to join us?**
- Describe an example of a people partnering or wellbeing process improvement that you have developed and implemented. What was the problem or opportunity you were addressing, your approach and the outcome?
- Outline a time you advised a senior people leader on a complex people management issue. What was the situation, describe how you worked with the senior leader, and the outcome?
