**Your Opportunity**:
As the Principal Finance Officer, you will provide specialist advice and input into the research, analysis and implementation of operational financial processes including accounts payable, taxation, accounts receivable and banking across the department (including schools) including identifying opportunities for process automation, compliance reviews, interpreting legislation, drafting of financial policies and procedures in a manner that meet business needs and is customer focussed.
**Your Role**:Responsibilities include**:
- Monitor various operational financial processes which may include accounts payable, taxation, accounts receivable and banking services in consultation with clients to ensure business and periodic reporting needs are met.
- Provide accurate, and timely high-level financial advice and direction in relation to financial services, to assist clients and stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes, consistent with financial management requirements.
- Research, develop, and implement business improvement solutions relating to various operational financial services including accounts payable, taxation, accounts receivable and banking operations for the department (including schools), ensuring compliance with relevant State and Federal legislation, directives, standards and departmental policies.
- Build and sustain effective networks with colleagues, clients and stakeholders within and external to the Division and the department, to review, identify and action improvements to business processes ensuring that knowledge and information is shared, and that departmental practices reflect contemporary financial management practices, including legislative requirements as applicable.
- Actively identify opportunities for new technologies, which can assist clients to embrace process automation, and advocate and promote those improvements by communicating the benefits; providing effective change management and support to affected clients as new technologies are introduced.
- Participate in change networks, reference groups and other communication channels both within the department and on a whole of government level, in relation to business improvement and process automation initiatives relating to operational financial services.
**About You**:
- Experience across SAP, Service-Now, ExpenseMe Pro and other financial systems will be highly regarded as well as highly developed skills in Excel.
