Our opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Capital Works Manager to join our Sydney team. Reporting to the Senior Capital Works Manager you will act as the “Owners Representative” for the planning, design and implementation of Capital Works projects ranging in value from $100K to 30 Mill.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery of project strategies that provide commercial & technical outcomes in alignment with the IIP Strategy
Delivery of projects in accordance with Mirvac’s commitment to HS&E & sustainability commitments and principle
Provision of management of internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle ensuring projects are delivered within time, cost & quality requirements
Implementation of project management systems & disciplines (finance, time, quality, risk, HS&E, sustainability, and communication)
Contracts administration in consultation with the Senior Capital Works Manager
Monitor industry performance and highlight opportunities, innovations, emerging trends, technologies and standards which aid in the operational position of the portfolio

Key Projects

**The scope of projects will include but is not limited to**:
Upgrading of building services (mechanical, fire, hydraulics, electrical, lifting, technology, etc.) to align with Mirvac’s sustainability and futureproofing strategies
Refurbishment of common areas, entry foyers, lift lobbies and amenities
Reconfiguration, refurbishment and make good of existing floor plates to align with any incoming tenant requirements
Refurbishment of ground plane areas including lobbies, end of trip facilities, retail and entry statements
The development of new tenant amenities, end of trip facilities, wellness centres, childcare, etc
Refurbishment of building facades and external common areas
Development of BCA, NCC & DDA compliance strategies & engineered solutions where required

Your point of difference

Project Management or equivalent tertiary qualification
At least 5 years’ experience in Property, Engineering or Architectural Project Management in commercial and/or retail sector
Demonstrated experience in being the “Owners Representative” in the management of Capital Works projects
Strategic planning and high level analytical/problem solving skills
Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and report writing skills
Demonstrated people management and project leadership skills with the ability to build and influence collaborative and productive stakeholder relationships
Experience in management of external consultants and the implementation and negotiation of commercial contracts and service level agreements
Capable of concurrent problem solving, management of complex issues and adaptability to changing work environments and workloads in a multi-functional technical services delivery environment
Knowledge of HSE&S, DDA and other risk management regulations
Strong understanding of the Australian Standards and National Construction Code
Computer literacy to industry standard - Specifically MS Project, Word & Excel
