**Your new company**

Join a Federal Government Department located in Canberra City. This department has a focus to strengthening communities and regions by fostering local economic growth in Australia’s external territories. Your role will involve the undertaking of administrative, contract management and project management within a team focused on delivery of Infrastructure projects.

**Your new role**

You enjoy working under general and limited supervision to complete a variety of contract and project management tasks. You enjoy engaging with external contractors and specialist advisors to ensure successful contract delivery within the team. You may also have responsibility of your own projects.

Tasks include:

- Conduct procurements using Department templates and/or Commonwealth templates
- Review contract documentation and assist in contract negotiations and final contract execution
- Provide administrative support to projects
- Liaise and manage key external stakeholders including other Government departments
- Liaise with stakeholders on moderately complex to complex policy, project or operational issues responding to stakeholder’s needs and expectations
- Assist with financial reporting
- Perform contract management responsibilities
- Provide supervision and guidance to the Admin Officer

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Client-side contract and project management experience - understands the contract and project environment in a Government context (essential)
- A sound understanding of project finances - management and reporting
- Strong administration skills and high attention to detail
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in SAP

**What you'll get in return**

This is an hourly rate contract role for an initial period until December with the option to extend a further 12 months.
