The Company
Swick Mining Services is Australia’s largest Underground Diamond Drilling Contractor with the most innovative and reliable rigs in the industry.
Due to our continued success, we have multiple opportunities available for experienced Diamond Drillers who are looking to step into a training role to utilise their years of knowledge and experience in the drilling industry.
The Role
The role of Technical Trainer is responsible for mentoring and developing Swick’s up and coming Drillers and Offsiders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Observe and assess the drill crew and supervisor competency regarding technical drilling capability
- Identify gaps in technical training for drill crews and supervisors.
- Ensure the correct tooling, consumables, drilling fluid programs and capital assets are employed at sites
- Ensure rigs are established in the drill sites to assist with ease of handling rods and maximizing production in mind
- Review new products, systems or equipment that may lead to productivity improvements
- Participate and assist in implementing change
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Diamond Drilling
- Certificate IV in Drilling Operations and Training and Assessing
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screen
- Full working rights within Australia
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Manual Driver’s License
- Ability and willingness to work remotely / underground
- Strong communication and people management skills
- Proven understanding of drilling rig operations
- High mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of OHS / Mines Safety legislation
