Bis is seeking an experienced Trainer
- Assessor
***who will have responsibility, authority and accountability to carry out training and assessment activities in line with Bis competency requirements.
By supporting our operations in complying with legislative requirements and ensuring that training is conducted consistently and in accordance with the standards set by the National Vocational Educational Training sector.
This is a permanent site based opportunity, travelling between our operations on an 8/6 FIFO roster (ex Perth) or Perth based on a 5/2 Mon-Fri but with site travel.
**Key responsibilities for this role include**:
- Actively promote and demonstrate commitment to Zero Harm;
- Monitoring, evaluation and recording of training activities and program effectiveness;
- Assessing all new operators, retraining and carrying out skills evaluations where required;
- Assisting in the development and review of Safe Work Instructions for operators;
- Upskilling Supervisors and Site Trainers in ensuring all operators are complying with all legislation concerning WHSE and Traffic Safety, as well as Company policies and procedures;
- Conducting courses in the understanding of basic operations of equipment used by operators;
- Carry out all duties in accordance with Bis policies, procedures and Safe Work Instructions;
- Continuous improvement and enhancement of a Zero Harm culture to enable Bis' management to eliminate or otherwise control risks within their operations.
**The successful applicant will possess the following**:
- Certificate IV in Training / Assessing (TAE40116) as a minimum;
- Current HC drivers licence and relevant mobile equipment competencies;
- Cert III Surface Extraction (desirable);
- In-depth knowledge of the competency requirements for all Bis plant and equipment (desirable);
- Sound knowledge of the legislative requirements for training and assessment for heavy vehicles, on public roads and on mine sites, including record keeping;
- Facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver information in both one on one technical training as well as to small groups of Site Trainer/Assessors and Managers;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to liaise/communicate with all levels of staff within the organisation, external providers and government providers;
- Competent user of MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint;
- Ability to work in high pressure, dynamic site environments;
- High level of awareness of confidentiality and privacy issues.
