**Metallurgical Coal**
Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.

**Job Description**:
Anglo American is looking for Ventilation and Gas Management professionals to join our dynamic Technical Services Departments and help drive a culture driven by safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

We want your specialist knowledge of underground ventilation and gas drainage practices; whether that be leading the management and coordination of all underground gas drainage activities, or providing on the ground management of the ventilation systems and underground in-seam (UIS) gas drainage processes to support the Ventilation and Gas Drainage departments.

With your diverse capability in communicating with a range of stakeholders and high level of planning and problem solving, one of these roles could even see you provide strategic advice in order to optimise the value of the mine in terms of ventilation and gas management

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or related mining discipline)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an underground mining operation as well as specialist knowledge in ventilation and / or gas drainage
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, and a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to influence and build relationships across site and technical experts in our corporate office
