**Position Information**:
North Sydney Boys High School (enrolment 934, 95% students from language backgrounds other than English) is an academically selective school on Sydney’s lower north shore. There is a commitment to providing a stimulating and challenging learning environment which develops resilient, innovative and connected learners who strive to achieve their personal best. Students from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds travel from across wider Sydney to its lower north shore location. A special education unit was established in 2019 enhancing an inclusive environment and broadening opportunities for all students.
The school has a history of outstanding academic achievement. Experienced staff are dedicated to innovative curriculum writing and delivery with a strong focus on quality teaching and professional learning. A substantial extracurricular program includes academic, sporting and cultural domains. There are extensive associations with Old Boys, parents and the local community.
The students enjoy a diverse curriculum allowing each student to explore and develop their interests and strengths within a supportive and inclusive environment. The students benefit from learning alongside like-minded peers, supported by expert teachers, a strong and cohesive school community and most importantly, each other.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria
- Demonstrated capacity to inspire and lead highly effective, strategic and innovative educational practices and continuous improvement with a focus on excellence, student voice and high achievement through diverse and rigorous curriculum including extracurricular opportunities.
- Deep understanding of the complex wellbeing needs of high performing, gifted and special needs students with demonstrated experience in leading improvement in a wide range of evidence-based wellbeing initiatives and programs.
- Demonstrated capacity to be an approachable, collaborative and visible leader to motivate, inspire and support a diverse and dynamic staff, underpinned by quality teaching and learning within a culture of high expectations.
- Demonstrated capacity to proactively communicate and visibly engage with the entire school community in authentic and transparent ways that are culturally sensitive with a strong commitment to strengthening valuable partnerships with parents and the wider community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
