An exciting opportunity exists within the People Operations Section of the People Services Branch for an experienced Workplace Relations Officer at the Executive Level 1 classification.

The occupant of this position is required to provide strategic, policy and operational advice and support on a wide range of complex and sensitive people management issues including employment conditions and remuneration, workplace relations and delegations.

**Duties**:

- Provide support for management of the Enterprise Agreement bargaining process, including implementation and communication.
- Manage the governance of DVA’s People Policy framework, including ongoing audit, approvals and reviews,
- Provide secretariat support for the National Staff Consultative Forum.
- Keep up to date with APS, social, economic, technological and environmental trends and develop and implement contemporary HR strategies.
- Prepare complex and sensitive briefs, submissions, policies, reports and correspondence for a wide range of audiences including the Minister, Secretary and senior DVA management, unions, DVA Committees and external stakeholders.
- Maintain effective internal and external networks, including representing the department, and liaise effectively with a range of key stakeholders including Senior Executives, public office holders and union delegates and representatives.
- Undertake other high profile and complex projects as required.

An immediate vacancy is available for filling and merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing/non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.
