$108,195 - $122,044 (plus Super)
- Brindabella Park - ACT

**The Role**
Your role is to improve Army’s visibility of all Army youth engagement to enable appropriate compliance and improve Youth Protection outcomes across Army.

Army is a large contributor to Defence’s engagement with youth and these activities play a central role in establishing/maintaining Army’s reputation in the community whilst showcasing Army as an employer of choice for the future workforce. As such, Army youth engagement activities need to reflect the high standards of Army and ensure youth are kept (So far as is reasonably practicable) safe and enjoy a positive and rewarding interaction with Army.

This position will be responsible for:

- Maintaining centralised visibility of all Youth engagement activities across Army (less Army Cadets);
- The coordination of compliance and assurance auditing and reporting of Army youth engagement; and
- Being the Army conduit between the Commands, Formations and Units responsible for the delivery of Youth Policy, Protection and Safety to support the planning and delivery of Army ‘Youth Safe’ engagement activities.

This position is part of Headquarters Australian Army Cadets (HQAAC), which is to better enable access to the Defence (Joint Support Services Division - Youth Division) and HQAAC, for: Youth Policy, Protection and Safety support; Army’s principal youth engagement activities; and the Army Cadets and the Defence Work Experience Program (DWEP).

The position will report directly to the Army Policy Owner (APO) for Youth Policy; Commander Australian Army Cadets.

**About our Team**
The Australian Army Cadets is an Army youth development organisation, consisting of military, APS, adult volunteers and cadet youth. The organisation has 20,000 personnel, including 18,000 cadet youth, and is geographically dispersed across the Nation under Headquarters Australian Army Cadets (HQAAC) and nine Regional Headquarters.

HQAAC is located in Canberra and is comprised of six Branches: Policy, Safety, Operations, Personnel, Training and ICT. Importantly, the Commander AAC is the Army Policy Owner for Youth Policy across Army, not just for the Army Cadets.

It is within this area that the Army Youth Engagement Coordinator will be focused to maintain oversight of all Army youth engagement activities (excluding Army Cadets), to ensure that Army is achieving wider Defence directed best practice in regards to youth safety and protection. As part of a broader team, or as an individual, success in the role will require broad engagement within both Defence and Army.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills through which they nurture highly productive working relationships, and inspire a sense of common purpose and direction.

The Position provides input to Army and Defence Youth policy development and will be required to write business submissions, reports, briefs and ministerials.

They must be able to meet deadlines and achieve results.

They will be able to coordinate compliance and assurance auditing against the Youth Policy manual, with Army Commands and units.
