- You will be working on challenging policy activities that have a real impact on the future of Australia’s Defence export control system. The work we deliver is driven by Government priorities and ensures that stakeholders are able to meet their obligations under Australia’s export control laws.

- You will undertake complex policy research, analysis and development to deliver informed and timely outcomes for DEC Branch.

The right person for this role will be a confident communicator, with an ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships. They will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships to meet key business outcomes as required.

**About our Team**
Defence Export Controls Branch (DEC) is the Commonwealth regulator responsible for the movement of Defence-related goods, technology and services both within and outside Australia. DEC supports stakeholders from government, industry, higher education and research sectors, and private individuals to meet their obligations under Australia’s export control laws.

The Transformation, Policy and Technology Directorate delivers best practice policy support, with a current focus on implementing the Defence Trade Controls Amendment Bill 2023 and addressing recommendations from the 2023 Review of the Defence Trade Controls Act. The team keeps up to date with the latest changes to relevant Defence Export Control legislation and regulations to ensure the Branch is ready to meet the needs of the Defence Export Control environment.
