Head of Data Science

**Clemenger BBDO is looking for a Head of Data Science to join the team**

As a well established Data Scientist, you are well versed in advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualisation techniques, to create solutions that enable enhanced decision making and business performance. This is a role that can be based in Sydney OR Melbourne.

As a part of the team, you collaboratively work with Account Service Leads, Tech program Leads, clients and other areas of the business, to understand the business problems and key decisions to be solved through insightful analytics. You will use the data science toolkit to identify trends, patterns and insights from raw data and extract meaning from data, uncover insights and identify opportunities to inform business decision making.

**Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the evolution of an analytical practice that is unrivalled in market - across operations and process, thinking and strategy, service and client engagement, delivery and execution and yield and profitability, and that is purpose built for the future needs of large corporations
- Work with clients to understand their business needs and propose and lead data science solutions.
- Lead the acquisition of additional data when required, to resolve specific business issues, enhance analytical capabilities, and inform decisions.
- Effectively record, manage and store information and data for future reference and reporting.
- Adhere to coding and knowledge sharing best practice, contributing to a cross skilled collaborative team.
- Automate information delivery where appropriate to processes and people to increase speed of information and decision making, allowing action to be taken with certainty, and at a lower cost.
- Build and contribute to a creative, forwards thinking analytics culture to drive best outcomes for clients.
- Contribute to the growth of BBDO Networks AI capabilities, bringing fresh ideas to the table.

**WHAT WE'RE AFTER**
- Tertiary qualification, with a strong core or applied mathematics element in a STEM or similar course.
- 7+ yrs of professional experience in a data science or analytics function.
- Experienced working with large data sets, and delivery and continuous optimization of enterprise grade ML models.
- Proven experience in platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and key components such as BigQuery and BigQueryML.
- Proven experience communicating model outcomes and complex ideas to the wider business, especially to non-technical stakeholders, to drive change.
- Proven commercial acumen and prior experience of extracting business value from data.
- A high level of proficiency in key programming languages, Python and SQL.

**Other things that would make you excel in this role**
- Post graduate qualification in analytics (Master of Data Science, Master of Business analytics, Master of Engineering or similar)
- An understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks especially on cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity core marketing concepts and marketing related data either through work experience or education.
- Experience in a professional services environment (e.g. Agency or consulting firms) in a client facing role.
- Familiarity with the AWS's and GCP's suite of technologies, especially on the ETL and Cloud computing side.
- Proven experience of working with either Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics data.
- Ability to create data visualization on at least one major BI platform (Looker Studio, Tableau or PowerBI)
