**This opportunity**

We are on an exciting new journey to establish a Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) that will bring together data and analytics experts to create a world-class capability. This CoE will allow us to unlock growth, power performance, and accelerate innovation.

As Head of Data Science in the newly established Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will lead a team of data scientists and be responsible for the data science function at TPG Telecom. You will lead experimentation with a variety of advanced analytics techniques (including ML / AI) to solve complex business problems and drive automated decisioning at scale. Where possible, you will lead the team to utilise advanced analytics to identify insights / patterns, and then targeted hypothesis testing before deploying optimised solutions.

You will promote a data science culture that focuses on driving value, especially “last mile execution.” You will have a bias for action over academic perfection. You will partner with other leaders in the CoE and across the business. As the CoE serves all parts of TPG Telecom, your work may cover all business units, products, and customer segments.

**Responsibilities**

Once use cases are prioritised, you will lead cross-functional teams composed of other functions in the CoE (Data Science, Data Visualisation, Data Engineering and Data Governance) as well as team members from the respective business unit to deliver use cases, ensure value realisation, and champion adoption. As a core part of your engagement with business stakeholders and leadership of your team, you will have a bias for action over academic perfection. As the CoE serves all parts of TPG Telecom, your work may cover all business units, products, and customer segments.
- Lead and mentor a team of analytics delivery and business partners.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for analytics delivery and business partnering in the CoE.
- Develop close partnerships with business leaders and other analytics teams.
- Identify and understand business challenges and opportunities.
- Advise business leaders strategically.
- Lead cross-functional teams for prioritized use cases and adoption.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Build partnerships with leaders in the CoE.
- Promote an action-oriented analytics culture.
- Advocate for analytics to non-technical audiences.
- Foster innovation and collaboration within the team and CoE.

**Knowledge and experience**
- A University degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience solving business problems through analysis, including 3+ years in team leadership.
- Track record of leading large-scale cross-functional projects from ideation to implementation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with autonomy.
- Strong planning and organization skills.
- Proficient in deriving actionable insights from complex data and communicating them to non-technical audiences.
- Experience building relationships with business and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent business acumen and judgment.
- Solutions-oriented mindset with a strong problem-solving drive.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
- Above all, a can-do attitude is essential
