**About the role**

Data Science is responsible for exploring and experimenting with engineering, finance and operational data to help Audinate make data-informed decisions on strategy, technology and products. We use software engineering, database and machine learning tools for our experiments and then present the result in a compelling story about data.

This might be the role for you if you are creative, curious and have a willingness for self-guided exploration and learning in new areas as well as the technical capacity to design, implement data experiments and demonstrate ideas.

Working from our Surry Hills office, we can offer flexible working days/hours per week, but with a minimum commitment of 2 days per week over 3 months.

Please note this is a
**paid** internship.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify trends and patterns in data that may improve our products, technology, profitability and address operational challenges
- Experiment, explore and evaluate the latest data, machine learning and AI tools/algorithms/libraries
- Work with the team and other parts of the organization to understand business requirements or context, and present results with impact and action in mind
- We are happy to tailor the internship project(s) based on your interest in addition to what is useful to the organization
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree with a passion for mathematics, software, data and machine learning and science (e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Data Science or similar); equivalent self-study or previous related commercial experience
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of the scientific method
- Experience developing in Python, Linux shell and familiar with basic object-oriented programming and software version control
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data to extract value and insight: different databases and query languages
- Experience working with and good understanding of machine learning
- Ability to think critically and communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
