Hays Melbourne are seeking an Asphalt Lab Technician to sit within the R&D lab of one of Australia’s largest building materials and construction companies. As part of the Asphalt division at Boral, you will be joining a company that offers career opportunities nationally across a broad range of disciplines including trade, engineering, manufacturing and logistics.

Your new role
As part of a lean R&D and quality team of 3 within the Deer Park Asphalt division, your role will be focussed on the testing and sampling of asphalt and bitumen products. Core components of the role include but are not limited to:

- Sampling and testing of asphalt
- Operation of the laboratory in accordance with NATA accreditation
- Generating reporting and documentation of test results
- Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment

What you’ll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in a science field or relevant
- Industry experience within an R&D lab, open to chemical, pharmaceutical, building materials or food based environments
- Well developed analytical skills and a strong commitment to quality
- Able to handle loads of up to 10KG as the sample sizes can be this size
