About You

We’re looking for someone who’s ready to lead, problem-solve, and get stuck into the day-to-day of research funding at RMIT. As Manager, Awards Management, you’ll head up a small, dedicated team that supports researchers across the full lifecycle of externally funded projects—from setting up grants and contracts to managing major research centres and initiatives.

This role is perfect for someone who’s come up through research support or research office roles and is ready to take the next step. You’ll be hands-on, working directly in systems like Workday and funding portals, and helping navigate the complexities of research contracts. It’s fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable, and always rewarding. You’ll need to think on your feet, juggle competing priorities, and bring a calm, solutions-focused approach.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values flexibility, transparency, and trust. To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- Extensive experience in research management,- Proven ability to provide high quality, strategic advice on research funding management, contract administration, research centre management, and other post-award matters- Proven capacity to collaborate and build effective and productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders- Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
