**The Opportunity**

The purpose of this role is to support the Funding and Insights Analytics team in partnering with the Health Partnerships & Networks as well as Healthcare Funding and Strategy teams to deliver analytical solutions, data insights and reporting that enable accurate, timely and informed decision making.

**Your Impact**

As an analyst in the Funding and Insights Analytics team, your role would be to support decision making in respect of hospital funding through analytics. You will work closely with business groups to identify changes in the funding environment, analyse current trends and determine the impact of change in funding initiatives. You will forecast hospital claiming patterns, use predictive analytics to proactively build tools and provide targeted recommendations, commentary and insights.

**About you**

We are looking for the following:

- Tertiary qualification in a quantitatively oriented discipline such as economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or finance.
- Completion or studying towards a post graduate qualification in health, data science or analytics would be advantageous but not required.
- Experience in economic, statistical or other quantitative analysis within a corporate environment.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in SAS, SQL, R or Python programming languages.
- Proven ability to undertake complex data and statistical analysis using relevant tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both individually and as a team member.
- General reasoning skills emphasising critical reasoning.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Australian health and private health insurance sectors would be desirable but not essential
- Experience in healthcare funding would be advantageous
